Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing room cleaning schedules, coordinating with staff, and maintaining the cleanliness and standards of guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an eye for detail and provide excellent service to guests, departments, and staff.
- Review lists of vacant rooms, prospective checkouts, and discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Assign duties to team members and inspect their work for cleanliness standards.
- Distribute room assignment sheets and floor keys to room maids.
- Communicate efficiently with the Front Office and other hotel departments.
- Schedule and oversee carpet, upholstery, and drapery cleaning, as well as deep cleaning tasks.
- Organize cleaning for lobby, public restrooms, hallways, entrances, elevators, and other hotel areas.
- Plan and execute major periodic cleaning projects (e.g., carpet shampooing, wall cleaning).
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, ensuring adequate stock.
- Investigate and resolve housekeeping service issues and equipment concerns.
- Support the Operations Manager in staff training, coaching, and enforcing standard operating procedures.
- Ensure meeting rooms are set up according to event specifications.
- Ensure guest rooms are secured and key control procedures are followed by housekeeping staff.
- Reward staff for meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
- Print housekeeping-related reports and track actions in the Property Management System (PMS).
- Assist with controlling housekeeping department expenses.
- Confirm staff attendance and find substitutes when necessary.
- Maintain high standards for guest rooms, linens, uniforms, lost and found, laundry, and public areas.
- Oversee the quality of laundry services, ensuring undamaged linens and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors such as pest control, laundry services, and other outsourced services.
- Handle guest complaints and service recovery measures when needed.
- Address guest feedback on housekeeping performance and share compliments with staff.
- Submit repair and maintenance requests for cleaning equipment.
- Prepare store requisitions and monitor housekeeping supplies and linen stock.
Requirements:
- Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to handle guest complaints with a professional attitude.
