Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to maintain the hotel’s infrastructure, ensuring all systems, facilities, and equipment are operating efficiently. The technician will be responsible for handling repair requests, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting issues in both guest rooms and public areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and attend to guest repair requests, ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free experience.
- Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems to maintain hotel operations.
- Communicate effectively with guests and staff to comprehend and address maintenance needs.
- Interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units to diagnose issues.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, ensuring efficiency and minimal disruption to guests.
- Remain calm and exercise sound judgment when working under pressure situations.
- Focus on details, speed, and accuracy in all maintenance tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and hotel-related information at all times.
- Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property during maintenance work.
- Understand and operate various test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
- Perform maintenance tasks in guest rooms, including plumbing, hardware repairs, electrical work (e.g., lamps, air conditioners, HVAC, AC ducts).
- Conduct maintenance in hotel public areas, including plumbing, electrical, and cosmetic repairs.
- Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on various types of equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain all tools and equipment used in hotel maintenance.
- Operate independently by analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and implementing them efficiently with available resources.
- Be available for emergencies, providing engineering support to protect guests, associates, and the building.
- Monitor fire alarms and life safety systems, handling emergencies involving these systems.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns to assist with repairs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and system schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and guests.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in building maintenance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment.
